Whether your patio furniture has been wind-ravaged or you've had severe hail damage to your roof, we're here to help. When high winds cause debris to end up on your roof, hail damage isn't always immediately apparent, but all it takes is a couple minutes of golf ball-sized hail to "bruise" your roof. Even though shingles may not show obvious signs of damage, the integrity of the shingles may have been compromised. We have professionals who can help find out. Follow these simple steps to start your wind or hail damage claim today.

Call us as soon as you can

Touch base with us as soon as possible and have your policy number available. During the call, we'll confirm coverage, review your deductible and ask questions to understand what happened. We'll want to get a good idea of the extent of damage to your home and personal property. We'll explain the claims process, and we may assign a field adjuster to meet with you to inspect your home. If so, the adjuster will contact you within 48 hours to schedule the inspection. After the inspection, we'll work with you to set a timeline for repairs to your home.

If you have a mortgage, it is also helpful to have your mortgage information handy. We'll need to include the mortgage company on any payments to repair your home.

Get professional help, if needed

If you need the help of a contractor to clean up the damage and/or prevent additional wind or hail damage, but don't know who to call (for example, if you need someone to put a tarp on your roof), we may be able to help you source a contractor in your area. The contractor's cost may be covered under your policy, minus the cost of your deductible. Be sure to save any contractor receipts to submit for consideration for reimbursement.

A contractor or appraiser does not have the authority to determine coverage, approve payments or begin repairs. Do not start any large-scale structural repairs before initiating your claim and talking to your insurance claims adjuster (but do take initial steps to prevent additional damages).

Take pictures of the damage and email them to us

If you're able, take photos or record a short video of the damage to send to us. You can also show them to your field adjuster.

Once you've initiated a wind or hail damage claim, we'll process your claim as quickly as possible and work with you to create a timeline for repairs. If you have wind or hail damage to your home, give us a call at 1-800-872-5246 to start your claim.
